Step back in time with this immersive morning tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest and most magnificent of Seoul's Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty in 1395. Arrive early to witness the impressive changing of the royal guard ceremony, a colorful recreation of Joseon-era traditions featuring guards in vibrant traditional uniforms and a musical procession. The guided palace tour explores the throne hall (Geunjeongjeon), king's quarters, and serene royal gardens while explaining Confucian principles of governance and daily palace life. The experience includes a special viewing of royal court cuisine preparation and traditional Korean tea service. The tour concludes at the National Folk Museum located within the palace grounds, where exhibits on traditional Korean lifestyles provide context to the royal culture. This cultural journey offers rich insights into Korea's 500-year Joseon Dynasty that shaped the nation's cultural identity.
