Weekend camp empowering Deaf teens with leadership skills and Deaf identity
๐ Official Website โ๐ Full Details
The NorCal Deaf Youth Leadership Camp is an immersive weekend retreat held in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains for Deaf and Hard of Hearing teens ages 13-18. Campers participate in team-building challenges, leadership workshops led by Deaf role models, and creative expression sessions including ASL poetry and visual storytelling. The camp provides a rare all-signing environment where teens can explore Deaf identity, build self-advocacy skills, and form lasting friendships with peers who share their experience. Scholarships cover the full cost for families demonstrating financial need.
