ASL Open Mic Night is a quarterly showcase where Deaf and hearing signers take the stage to perform original ASL poetry, personal narratives, stand-up comedy, and visual vernacular pieces. The event is hosted at an intimate Oakland performance space with a visual-forward setup โ stage lighting designed for sign visibility, a large video screen for close-ups, and bass-heavy speakers for musical performances. Both seasoned performers and first-timers are encouraged to sign up. The evening includes a featured headliner from the national Deaf performance circuit. Admission is by donation to support Deaf arts programs.
